Under the Rose at New Music Dublin 2020 – 28th February

The Royal Irish Academy of Music presents a concert as part of New Music Dublin 2020 Festival at the National Gallery of Ireland on Friday 28th February 2020 at 1pm.

They will perform Under the Rose [2000] for violin, piano, flute and spoons. The piece was originally commissioned by the Irish contemporary music ensemble Concorde.

The work is based on four paintings by the Irish artist Jack B. Yeats [1871 – 1957] several of whose paintings are in the gallery. This painting is called ‘The Singing Horseman’.
