The Contemporary Music Centre of Ireland and the Irish Cultural Centre, Paris present Ulysses Journey 2022: Celebrating the 100th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses by James Joyce – in Dublin, Belfast, Paris & Budapest
2nd of February, 2022 marks the 100th anniversary of the publication of James Joyce’s Ulysses. In light of the importance to Dublin and Ireland of this milestone in world literature, as well as its significance to Paris where it was first published, the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland (CMC) and Centre Culturel Irlandais (CCI) present an international celebration across Ireland and Europe from February to June 2022.
Ulysses Journey 2022 commences on Wednesday, 2nd February with the simultaneous world premieres of six newly commissioned music and film works by composers and filmmakers from Ireland screened in the Irish Film Institute, Dublin and Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris.
Ailís Ní Ríain is one of the composers commissioned to contibute a new work for this series of events. ‘I will see what I can see [Feicfidh mé má thig liom feicsin]’  for classical accordion, prepared piano and spoken voice features texts from the Irish language translation of Ulysses by Jim Henry.
