“The discrete music by Ailis Ni Riain brings a sense of the period in which the play is set.” – What’s on Stage

“This Feelgood Theatre production is well served by heartfelt performances from Simon Jenkins and Alasdair Craig, and by some beautiful accompanying music.” – 4* The Scotsman

Award winning Feelgood Theatre  present a UK/France tour Not About Heroes  by Stephen MacDonald with newly commissioned score for solo cello by Ailís Ní Ríain. Supported by the PRS Foundation for Music. It is a timeless and uncompromising exploration of courage, of humanity and a moving celebration of an intense friendship forged through poetry and the power of words overshadowed by a terrible and all-consuming war.  “These poems are not about heroes, my subject is war, and the pity of war.” – Wilfred Owen

“It is hard not to be moved by the important stories and poetry presented with appropriate dignity in this play”.  – The Public Reviews

Not About Heroes features a newly commissioned cello suite by Ailís Ní Ríain & funded by the PRS Foundation for Music.  See full tour schedule here.
