Dame Evelyn Glennie and The New London Chamber Ensemble will give the world premiere of Ailís Ní Ríain’s Revelling/Reckoning at the opening event of the 2023 Lake District Summer Music Festival at Coro Hall, Ulverston on 28th July 2023.
Revelling/Reckoning – “music that dances and delights, even in the face of its consequences. Is the revelling worth the reckoning? Certainly in the energy and electricity of this performance. Music that’s all about celebrating the ambiguity and the paradox, that we need both the pleasure and the responsibility. All that revelling, all that reckoning […] Evelyn Glennie was the reveller and the reckoner as the solo percussionist on that performance of Ailis Ni Riain’s Revelling/Reckoning.” – BBC New Music Show.
