A new commission, ‘Chainstitchembroidered’ for flute & piano by Ailís Ní Ríain commissioned by the American musicians Linda Chatterton (Yamaha Artist) and Matthew McCright based on Anthony Burgess’ Badly Tempered Electronic Keyboard received its premiere at the International Anthony Burgess Foundation in Manchester on 21st August 2012. Sincere thanks to the PRS Foundation for Music, Arts Council England and the Minnesota Arts Board.  Click here for a review of the concert

“Ni Ríain creates emotion and the music is given a poetic feel to it, where we place our own images. Throughout the performance it seemed as if we are at a poetry recital with two voices performing at once. Ni Ríain has a knack of forcing us to listen,  take in what is happening, and make sense of it all.”
